The Approach of the Czech Employers to Workers 50+ Compared to the Key Ideas of Selected International and National Strategic Documents

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the key ideas of currently valid international and national documents in the area of employment of older workers, and then on the basis of empirical investigation assess whether the practices of Czech employers correspond with the ideas of these documents. The work is divided into four parts. The introductory part deals with the specifics of older workers, including a description of the current demographic situation in the country. The second part presents the main ideas of the essential strategic documents in the area of assertion of people older than fifty years in the labour market. The third compares the results of the most recent national surveys with the key ideas of analysed documents. The last part, qualitative research, focuses on the attitude of selected Czech employers towards workers 50+, compares the extracted key ideas of the most important strategic documents in the field of active aging in employment with genuine personnel practices of selected employers. The last chapter also verifies compliance of results of own research with the survey findings presented in the national researches. Labour Market changes during the transition process in the Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic

The Czech economic transition started in the beginning of nineties, coming with a number of changes to tore down the dogma of socialist methods not only in the labour force allocation. The most important contribution of this thesis is to reflect these changes by using the empirical testing of selected models and commonly available statistical indicators. The thesis investigates the development of the labour market in the Czech Republic at a critical period of reform in the last decade of the twentieth century. In addition to the main objective the work focuses also on the identification of causal relationships between indicators and critically assesses them. In conclusion of the thesis are summarized the most important changes that created the Czech labour market during the reporting period, the success of the Czech economic transformation is valorised in the context of other countries in the region with similar experiences. The work is primarily based on academic economic literature and analyses of officially published statistical indicators.
The Employment of People with Disabilities

Diploma thesis is about problems related to employment of disabled people. The aim of a thesis is complex analysis of labour market and possibilities that have people with disabilities when looking for a job. This thesis provides summary of employers rights and obligations, which are linked with employment of people with disabilities. It enumerates barriers to employ these people and it describes special working conditions that exist for people with disabilities. This thesis also contains complex analysis of the legislation and labour market with the focus on Náchod region.
Unemployment in the South Bohemian Region for the past 5 years in the context of the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the labour market in the South Bohemian Region and subsequently to compare data on unemployment with nationwide values for the last five years. The theoretical part is analyzes literature related to the issue of unemployment and provides a description of the South Bohemian Region. The analytic part analyzes statistical materials provided by the Labour Office in České Budějovice and obtained from the website of the Czech Statistical Office and deals with demographic data, the number of employed persons and the various aspects of unemployment in the South Bohemian Region in a nationwide context. This part also provides in-depth information on unemployment in the region and its possible solutions using the tools of passive and active employment policy.
Analysis of the Labour Market in the Central-Bohemian Region

As the title of my diploma thesis already suggests, the thesis deals with the analysis of the labour market in the largest of all Czech regions. The situation in the Central-Bohemian labour market may be considered stable and the unemployment rate in this region has ranked among the lowest in the whole country for a long period of time, but due to the size of the region broad district differences may be observed. This thesis seeks to evaluate and summarise the evolution of the Central-Bohemian labour market (mainly in the past decade) and to highlight the main factors causing the differences mentioned above. The thesis also deals with the impact of economic recession on the labour market in the Central Bohemia and on the number of employees of major employers in the region. Last but not least I try to suggest several ways to reduce unemployment and evaluate the measures that have already been taken by the government organizations in my thesis. The first part of the document discusses theoretical aspects of the labour market functioning, measuring of unemployment and explains related terms.
The Labour Market in the European Union

The diploma thesis "The Labour Market in the European Union" evaluates the developments of the labour market in the European Union and the mechanisms of the European Union's employment policy in the period of 2000-2010. The theoretical definitions of the main labour market categories and three major macroeconomic models are explained in the first chapter. The second part provides comparative analysis of them member states based on selected labour market indicators -- employment, unemployment, labour productivity and costs and labour market policy The third chapter investigates in the activities of the European Union in the area of employment policy and more closely focuses on the European Employment Strategy, its guidelines and influence on member states policy setting. The chapter closes with the overview of the financial resources activated by the EU to support employment in response to the financial crisis.
Economic Crisis Impact into Labour market Development in Region Highlands

The Diploma thesis is focused on regional labour market development in Highlands during the economic crisis that brought negative impacts, especially into an area of industrial production. The main objective of thesis is to evaluate this labour market development, to analyse the impacts of economic crisis in selected economic entities that are significant regional employers and to research of practical solutions of negative consequences for elimination of this negative impacts needs. Integral part of thesis is also presentation of instruments that were implemented by regional institutions as part of employment policy.
